Issue Description:

It isn't clear what it is going on, seems like it it blocking and waiting for something to timeout?

This makes it really inconvenient to use for simple and quick interactions.

This happens with master built in the style of an open source swift toolchain.

We're going to need a lot more information here. What version of LLDB/Swift? If hand-built, what configuration? What host OS, and if macOS, what Xcode version do you have installed?
